WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!

I was trying to find some cool interesting way to title this post, but there is really nothing better than just saying it.

So yes it's true, a little one is on the way. Ivori is about 3 and a half months now (14 weeks). We found out sometime in December. That will be a story for another post. It's a little exciting, a little scary, a little everything. Of course it's too soon to say what sex the baby is. We're both kind of torn as to what we would like the baby to be. I won't say who wants what, cuz I don't want our child to read this one day and think we wanted them to be something else (you can totally ask me offline). Then again, what we want changes from moment to moment. I'll be in the supermarket and see a little boy tearing through the cereal aisle, knocking down all of the boxes and I'm all like, "Please be a girl". Other times, I'm watching the news and seeing a story about a 12 yr old pregnant girl and I'm like, "a boy would be nice too". Of course a healthy baby is our main concern.

I'm working on getting pictures together to show you. As soon as we have something to share we will. Any other pictures, especially pictures of mommy, will need to be authorized before I can "put them all up over the www" (her exact words). I happen to think a pregnant belly is a beautiful thing. The owner of said pregnant belly does not think it is anyone else's business. So other than ultrasound pictures, I'm not sure what else I can share picture-wise. Be assured though, that there's plenty of stories to share already. I'll give updates at least weekly of what's going on with us. When we do get pictures I'll also post them on our pictures site for all to see.

So needless to say that this blog is definitely going to become baby-centric. There will be other posts about other things as they come along, but obviously baby is the lead story for us every moment. Feel free to leave comments and definitely stay tuned.

Wedding photos added

I've added the photos from our wedding to our picture page. Now I know what you're thinking right now. Are those pictures of Rihanna real or fake? I don't really know. I'm not an expert with the Photoshop, so I couldn't tell you. Certainly looks real to me. TRAGIC!

As for your other question, yes it was over 3 years ago that we got married (January 21, 2006). Why are we just now putting up the pictures? I'll answer your question with a question: Have I seen your wedding pictures? I probably haven't, and look how long we've known each other. TRAGIC! *

Actually I'm amazed how many people haven't really seen any pictures from our wedding. I think I emailed a few pics when we got them, but it was probably only a handful. So I figured while I was putting up pictures, I might as well add the wedding pictures. Doing so brought an interesting opportunity. You see, the wife and I obviously weren't snapping any pictures. The professional photographer, well his pictures are in a big fancy book. You'll have to come visit to see those (maybe one day we can digitize them). So all of the pictures I have on my computer are from other people's cameras (who's down with OPC?!). So I decided to upload all of the pictures and try as best as I could to put them in chronological order. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. First of all there's over 200 pictures from four different cameras. Trying to remember what happened in what order proved a challenge as well. Once I was done, though, it was pretty interesting to see how it turned out. You get a few different perspectives of many of the same events.

Photo update

Hello all. First thing, the last post i made has the date of January 14, 2008. That is clearly not right. I actually started that posted over a year ago and never finished it (sad, I know). So when I updated and published that post, it kept the date of origin as opposed to the date it was published. It was published February 2, 2009. We are all learning together.

I finally got all the pictures of the house (so far) up on the web. You can go to my Picasa Web site and view all the pictures at your leisure. There are over 200 pictures for your enjoyment. As I add more pictures (oh yeah, there's more) I will keep you posted. Of course, feel free to bookmark the page and keep checking the site everyday to see if new pictures have come up. That is totally up to you. You might even get to see stuff before it officially "comes out". You'll be one of the cool kids. So here's the link...

Once you get there, you can see our different photo albums (there's just one for now), view slideshows and download pictures. If you're one of those people who like to have pictures in your hands, you can even order prints. At first I thought this was kinda dumb, but there's an option to have it sent to your local Walgreens and pick it up right there in the store. No shipping costs and no waiting (well maybe an hour) and I think it's like 19 cents a picture. That's actually pretty cool!
