Firsties

Last night we took Madison to the Kingdom Hall for the first time. She'd left the house before, but this was her first real time out in public. Here's the pictures...

What can brown do for you?

The number one question we receive currently is "Is there anything I can do/get for you?".

...."Survey says....ABSOLUTELY!!!". That was the number one answer followed by "MOST DEFINITELY!!".

So what do we need? Well for starters, if you live in our area, can you cook? When people eat your food are they like, "You know I really wasn't that hungry" or "We ate before we got here, so I'll just have a little bit"? If that doesn't happen to you, we could totally use your services. You don't have to buy groceries, we have food (mostly frozen), we just don't have time to make anything. Oh and let's not use this as an opportunity to try out some new dish you've never made before on some, "Oh I just saw this on the Neely's and wanted to try it out". We're going to need your 'tried and true' here. Like when there's a function, people ask you to make this dish. Keep it simple.

Also, for our "in the area" folks, we could use a little sprucing up. During late night diaper changing, I'm really not thinking about house work that much...who am I kidding, I wasn't thinking about that stuff before either.* Honestly we don't need any major cleaning done. Mostly vacuuming and some minor kitchen work (read: put dishes in dishwasher). I'm not expecting anything more than that, but if the spirit moves you to say, mop a kitchen floor, I will not slap the mop out of your hand.

For everyone else out of town you can not go wrong with our baby registry at www.babiesrus.com (click HERE). If you're not an online shopper and would rather go to the store, you should be able to look up either of our names, but the easiest way is to use the registry number which is 60783513. We've already gotten the major items (crib, bassinet, stroller, car seat, etc). The only things really left on there are some of the smaller things. Come to find out though, that some of the smaller things are actually pretty important (who knew?). Most stuff you can buy online and they'll send it to us. If it's not available online, you can go to your local Babies R Us and I 'think' they'll send it to us. I'll have to double check that though. If you want to mail us anything yourself, hit me up and I'll give you the address if you don't have it already.

But what if you're not a "registry" type person? Some people are not. Well nonconformist, you can buy whatever you like, but I must direct you to this page (click HERE) for the color scheme of the baby's room. That way you know what the colors look like. We actually have that mobile and bedding already, but that hamper and lampshade is looking kinda fresh now that I look at it (this my first time actually looking at that page).

Alright, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. HOLLA!!! (but not too loud, cuz the baby's sleeping)

* - Honey I was totally kidding. I live to clean.

"Picture pages, pictures pages, lots of fun with picture pages..."

Am I the only one who remembers that? Anyway, this is just going to be a bunch of pictures and very little typing from me. Starting now...

(I look like a dork in this one, but I'll add it for scale purposes)

If you want to see the pictures that they took of Madison at the hosptial, you can follow this link...Hospital Pictures

There's more pictures at our Picasa site, check the link on the left of this page. More pictures to come later.

Starting to notice a pattern here

So this whole blog started because we moved to North Carolina and starting buildig our home. I was updating all the time with news and pictures. Then a funny thing happened. It was time to finish up the house and move in. Well when that happened, I will admit that I slacked up a bit on the blog (ok a lot a bit).

Next major event was the annoucement that we were having a child. Much like the blogging about the home, there was a lot of anticipation leading up to the event. Then (you're going to laugh) another funny thing happened. The closer it got to the due date, the less I blogged. As a matter of fact, in case you don't know, Madison was born August 25th. Here's the vitals...

name: Madison Simone
time: 7:52pm
weight: 6 lbs 11 oz
length: 20 inches
eyes: wide open

Now you're probably looking at a watch or calendar and saying to yourself, "It's September 1st. This guy is terrible at announcements". I want to take this moment to apologize. First week with the baby is...an adjustment, let's just say that. Especially since this is the first time for both of us. I'm off all this week so I'll try to have more info and pictures as much as I can. Speaking of pictures...my memory card in my camera got damaged, so we lost quite a few pictures. I do have some pictures on my phone and some pictures from friends who stopped by. I'll put them up as soon as I can.
