Progess

So I finally felt her move. Let me tell you it was not easy. Apparently she moves all the time according to my wife. Usually when she tells me that she's moving, by time I get there to feel it, she's stopped. She's basically just turning over in there, trying to get a better spot. Obviously, that doesn't take too long and of course it usually happens when I'm in the middle of something, or I'm downstairs or in the other room or my hands are dirty (can't be touching the baby bake with dirty hands). So I came up with a little bit of a solution...I'm just gonna sit her with my hand on my wife's belly till the baby moves.

This plan can not fail.

(after what seems like hours later)

This plan seems to have failed.

Apparently, the moment I placed my hand on the wife's belly, the baby got VERY comfortable and went to sleep. Normally to hear my wife tell it, she's doing cartwheels in there. Seems she just needed a hand....(get it? a hand). So I decide to speak up.

ME: "Is she ever gonna move?"
WIFE: "What are you talkin about?"
ME: "I've had my hand here like forEVER and nothing's happening."
WIFE: (sigh) "B.O.D."
ME: "What!?!"
WIFE: "She moved like 3 times already."
ME: "No way! I've had my hand on your belly the whole time."
WIFE: "You're not pressing hard enough."
ME: "I wasn't told there was a pressure requirement."
WIFE: "Well, you can't just lay your hand there and expect to feel anything."
ME: "Fine, I'll press harder."
WIFE: "Fine."
ME: "Fine."

So I squoze harder. Kinda like this...

Immediately, my wife told me to stop doing that right away cuz that's not what she meant. She took my hand and placed it on top and pressed a little bit more firmly. I was scared to push to hard though, cuz I thought I'd make the baby pop out or something. Then I felt it. It wasn't what I expected. Honestly, I'm not sure what I expected, though I know she's probably a little to young to be kicking or anything. It felt more like a rumble. Kinda like a mini-earthquake or something.

There some other ways I can describe it, but it's kinda gross now that I think about it so I won't. But feel free to email me and I'll totally describe it to you.

She moved

Ivori says she can feel the baby moving now. Of course we've seen her acrobatics on the ultrasound a few times, but up until now she hasn't been able to notice it. She's still too small for me to be able to feel her moving from the outside. Ivori tried to describe to me how it felt. She said it wasn't much of a kick or jab as much as a tingle. I guess kinda like when you get a tingle up your spine or something.

We've been shopping a little bit. Mostly cribs and stuff. I think we've found the one we like. We even saw this vibrating mattress that promises to put babies right to sleep. I wonder if it comes in adult size?
